The City of Wildwood is hosting a Thanksgiving Celebration on November 23, 2024, from 12-4PM at the Wildwood Community Center. It is free for all Sumter County residents. There will be music, bounce houses, hayride, shaved ice, family photos, corn hole, face painting, and more! If you have any questions, please call Sergeant Ace at 352-931-1866 or Parks & Recreation at 352-461-0134.
Tonight is Halloween. Here are a few safety tips to take care of all your Trick or Treaters! Make sure to drive slowly, stay off your phone, and keep away from distractions. Stick together and be seen on the streets with extra flashlights and glowsticks. Look both ways before crossing any streets or sidewalks. But most of all, be sure to get some candy and have fun.
The market seems to be slowing down some. There were 119 Sumter County Single-Family Homes sold in September 2024, compared to 148 sales in September 2023, which is a 19.6% decrease. The median sale price of a Single-Family Home in Sumter County in September 2024 was $357,000, compared to $375,750 in September 2023. The average sale price in September 2024 was $411,732, a decrease from $436,718 in September 2023. We are very close to reaching a balanced market of 5.5 months of inventory. A balanced market favors neither buyer nor seller. In September 2024, Sumter County Single-Family Homes Inventory reached 5.0 months’ supply. The market slowdown could be caused by a variety of factors, including the election, mortgage rates, increasing sale prices, etc. The commercial and land market remains strong with low inventory. However, things are not selling overnight.
